Bull Riding

bull riderOne of the showcase events that rodeo audiences love is bull riding. Just imagine trying to stay on an animal that weighs more than a ton for eight seconds. It’s an amazing feat and thrilling to watch.

Riding a bull requires incredible upper-body control and leg strength as the rider tries to remain forward, or “over his hand,” at all times. Judges watch for use of the free arm, body position and spurring action. Spurs are not required, but their use adds points to a rider’s score.
